Fort Pickett – USACE Boundary Survey

Hurt & Proffitt, Inc. is currently under contract with Parsons Brinckerhoff (Norfolk, Virginia) to provide a Boundary Survey of the entire Main Reservation and Reservoir areas of the Fort Pickett – Army National Guard – Maneuver Training Center. Parsons Brinckerhoff is under direct contract with USACE. The survey includes approximately 58 miles of perimeter boundary and approximately 40,000 acres. A Boundary plat suitable for recording in the Court House of three Counties will be provided to the Department of Public Works at Fort Pickett.

Initial reconnaissance of approximately 58 miles near is completion and approximately 50 miles of traverse has been run. Much of the Reservoir area (1500+ acres) is accessible only by boat. Setting of missing monuments and marking of surveyed boundary will be completed for both the main reservation and the reservoir areas. Office work will include review of all research, analysis of field work vs. record documents, reporting of possible property gaps/overlaps and drafting of final plat. This project is estimated to be completed within a twelve month time frame from start of research to end of line marking.
