Hurt & Proffitt provided all engineering needed for improvements to the Appomattox County High School football field and new practice field in 2008-2009.
The existing football field at Appomattox County High School needed regrading, a new irrigation system and sod. The field was flat and stormwater did not drain off the playing surface.
Hurt & Proffitt provided all engineering services, which included the civil design, construction administration and inspection as well as all construction surveying and topographic surveys for this project.
New design for the field included sufficient slopes to allow for drainage to a new drainage system to remove surface water, and an automatic irrigation system.
The design was prepared as the School Board required and completed within budget and on time. The construction started in the spring of 2009 and will be completed in time for the fall 2009 football season.
