H&P provided the equipment, training and staff to accomplish smoke testing of the sanitary sewer in the Winona area of the City of Norfolk. At project completion our staff tested over 11,000 linear feet of sewer lines. H&P’s staff was also responsible for the distribution of door hangers to help notify property owners in the neighborhood of the schedule for smoke testing activity. Our scope of work also included taking pictures of each defect showing smoke venting and completion of a two page inspection report for each defect discovered. During the course of testing H&P provided traffic control as necessary to maintain a safe working environment. The specialty equipment available included safety equipment required for confined space entry as well as smoke blowers and those expendable supplies associated with the process of smoke testing.
