In 2008, Hurt & Proffitt provided full Survey and Civil engineering services for the Centra Health Data Center serving Centra and Lynchburg General Hospital. Working with Centra stakeholders and the design team of Calloway Johnson Moore and West and Barton Malow a site feasibility study was performed in order to select a site that would be both assessable to IT staff but would not take up prime future expansion space reserved for health care. This was accomplished by choosing a little used courtyard area that adjoins the existing physician’s library and was suitable for site construction. In addition to the site feasibility study Hurt & Proffitt provided topographic and utility survey, final civil construction documents and construction observation and administration for the project.
