Rockingham Memorial Hospital

This $280M project consisted of the construction of a 615,000 SF replacement hospital located in Rockingham County, Virginia. The overall site is approximately 53 acres and includes a loop road to serve the facility’s main entrance, emergency department and medical business facility.

Hurt & Proffitt provided general civil engineering and construction stakeout surveying services for this project. Scope of services included overall campus site planning, parking layout, mass grading, erosion and sediment control, stormwater management and stormwater runoff quality measures. Approximately 2,500 LF of additional roadway was designed to access the hospital campus from Port Republic Road and Boyers Road. Hurt & Proffitt’s surveyors staked out over 400 caissons that support the buildings foundation. Our surveyors were also responsible for staking control for building layout, storm and sanitary sewer, roadways and parking lots.
